Kathleen Buckingham joined the Northwestern University athletic training staff in 2017. Buckingham is responsible for managing the health care of the women's basketball team. Since 2022, she has also served as a supervisor of the athletic training staff.

Kathleen is a graduate of Millikin University where she earned a degree in Athletic Training. She received her Master’s Degree from Illinois State University, also in Athletic Training. Kathleen came to Northwestern from Illinois State University, where she primarily coordinated care for the women's basketball team and served as a preceptor to undergraduate athletic training students.

Kathleen's professional interests include functional rehabilitation and medical and performance analytics. Kathleen holds certifications in Graston I technique, functional movement screens, and is a certified myofascial trigger point therapist-dry needling.

Kathleen is originally from Illinois and resides in Chicago. She enjoys biking along the lake and exploring all the food venues Chicago has to offer.
