John Ghibellini joined Northwestern Athletics in August 2024 as Assistant Director of Olympic Sports Performance. He will be in charge of training the baseball and wrestling programs.
Prior to Northwestern, Ghibellini worked at Indiana State where he assisted with the baseball and football programs.
Ghibellini completed his undergraduate degree at Central College in Pella, Iowa, where he started a coaching career as an undergraduate intern for three years. He obtained a master's degree at South Dakota State University, while working as a Graduate Assistant for the FCS national champion football team. He was also in charge of baseball, wrestling, throwers and men's/women's golf. Before South Dakota State, Ghibellini spent a year at North Dakota State university working with football.
Ghibellini is originally from Oregon, Illinois.Â
