Angela Staveskie joined the Wildcats as the Volunteer Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach for the 2018 season.
Before arriving at Northwestern, Staveskie served as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach and Head Goalkeeper Coach for Northern Illinois University from 2016 to 2018.
During her time with NIU, Staveskie saw the team to a conference final and a conference quarterfinal in the 2016 and 2017 seasons respectively. She also developed a women’s soccer specific goalkeeper training program for the team and trained one all-conference and one all-MAC Tournament goalkeeper. In the 2017 season, one of Staveskie’s recruits was the first ever NIU first-year to be named to an All-MAC team.
As a part of the Northern Illinois community, Staveskie founded Huskies for Her in February 2017, an extra-curricular program for grade-school girls in public schools in the area. The program promoted healthy lifestyles through nutrition and physical activity.
Staveskie has also worked for the Chicago City Soccer Club, where she took on the role of Director of High School Girls and was the head coach for four club teams, starting in 2015. Before then, Staveskie was the Assistant Director of Coaching and a head coach for Northern Illinois FC, another club program, and was the Volunteer Assistant Soccer Coach for Northern Illinois University.
She holds a USSF National “C” License and a NSCAA Goalkeeper Diploma.
Staveskie played for the University of Toledo and served as team captain. During her time, the Rockets were the 2008 and 2010 Mid-American Conference Regular Season Champions, the 2007 and 2008 Mid-American Conference Tournament Champions, and made two first-round NCAA appearances. Staveskie’s graduating class continues to hold the program record with 56 wins over four seasons.
Originally from Park Ridge, Ill., Staveskie is a 2011 graduate of the University of Toledo with a bachelor's degree in marketing and communications. She earned a master’s degree in sport management in 2015.
