Charlie Leonard joined the Northwestern lacrosse program for the 2023 season, as a volunteer assistant coach and was elevated to assistant coach in the 2024 season.
In his first season with the program, Leonard helped the Wildcats win the 2023 national championship with an 18-6 win over Boston College in Cary, N.C.
Leonard, who works extensively on draw controls, helped Northwestern lead the Big Ten Conference and rank sixth nationally with a .632 draw control percentage.
Leonard played and graduated from Notre Dame and was named to the All-ACC Team and ACC All-Tournament Team in 2019 as face off specialist. During his graduate season (2021), Leonard posted a faceoff win percentage of 63.4, the best by a Notre Dame player since at least 2004.
For his career at Notre Dame, the Highlands Ranch, Colo., native played in 42 career games and registered 10 goals, four assists and 368 faceoffs.
