Became NU’s everyday right fielder after starting 129 career games in the infield (including playing every pitch of 2016 at second base) prior to her senior season ... Northwestern’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree ... Batted .385 at the season-opening Kajikawa Classic, starting with a 2-for-3 performance against No. 7 Arizona (2/7) ... Was 2-for-3 with an RBI in a win over Indiana, with both of those hits coming during a five-running #B1GCats outburst in the fifth inning (2/10) ... Singled, was hit by a pitch and scored twice in a run-rule victory over St. John’s (2/25) ... Had a stellar Houston Hilton Plaza Classic, batting .462 (6-for-13) ... The centerpiece of that streak was a career-best 4-for-4 performance with a triple and a career high five RBIs in a 10-2 win over Long Beach State (3/19) ... 2016: Started every game at second base ... Academic All-Big Ten ... Went 0-1 in a win against UC Riverside, but scored two runs and laid down a successful sacrifice (2/12) ... Finished 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored in a massive 22-4 (5) victory against Virginia (2/12) ... Was a perfect 2-for-2 with a walk and a double in a win over Boston College (2/20) ... Later that day, doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a run in a victory at North Carolina ... Singled twice in a run-rule win against New Mexico State (2/26) ... Drove in a run with a sacrifice fly versus No. 8 Georgia (2/27) ... Singled and scored in an extra-inning contest with No. 20 Fresno State (2/27) ... Walked and had an RBI groundout in a win over No. 11 UCLA (2/28) ... Crushed a solo home run against San Jose State (3/5) ... Finished with a pair of hits versus No. 19 Arizona State (3/6) ... Finished with two hits and a career-best four RBIs in a run-rule victory over Quinnipiac (3/18) ... In the first game of her career, did not record a base hit against UC Santa Barbara (2/6) but still scored three runs after being hit by three pitches ... Finished 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs in a win over Long Beach State (2/15) ... Collected two hits in the same inning against Wisconsin (3/28) ... Entered early during an eight-run inning as a pinch hitter, singled and scored, then came up later in the frame and singled again ... Drove in a pair of runs with a single and a sacrifice fly at Nebraska (4/18) ... Finished 2-for-4 with three walks in a doubleheader against Illinois (4/22) ... Was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run in the nightcap ... Went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs against Ohio State (4/25) before scoring a pair of runs in the series final with the Buckeyes (4/26).

High School: Knows how to win, playing for championship programs both in high school and in club ball ... Pacifica won the Empire League all four years of Marquez's career and was ranked No. 1 nationally in 2011-12 ... Played eight years of club ball, the final two with So Cal Athletics, winning the 16u PGF national championship and the prestigious Colorado Fireworks tournament in 2012 before capturing the 18u PGF National title in 2013 ... In the title game of the 18u national championship, Marquez hit a home run in the fourth inning that proved to be the game-winning run ... With Pacifica, was a four-year varsity starter ... Two-time all-league honoree ... Named Empire League Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman ... Senior Scholar Athlete, ranked nationally at No. 62 for high school seniors ... Personal: Born Brooke MoNae Marquez ... Daughter of Jesse and Lisa Marquez ... Older sister, Krystal, played for UC Riverside from 2005-08 where she was the starting centerfielder for four years and MVP as a senior ... Brother, Andrew, played baseball at Long Beach City before joining the military for the United States Coast Guard ... Majoring in communication studies.
