Northwestern begins stay at two-day meet on Friday afternoon
EVANSTON, Ill. (January 29, 2026) – Northwestern track returns to action this weekend, trekking east to South Bend, Ind. for the prestigious Meyo Invitational.
Set to be hosted inside the University of Notre Dame's Loftus Sports Center, the Wildcats will begin their two-day stay at the meet at 4:15 p.m. CT on Friday afternoon, with athletes slated to compete in both the distance medley relay and the 5,000m run.
Saturday's slate begins with action in the 3,000m run at 9:20 a.m. CT, with Northwestern also set to be represented in the 800m run and the mile run on the final day of competition.

In their most recent competition, a contingent of Wildcats traveled to Seattle, Wash. for the UW Preview. Northwestern was led in the Pacific Northwest by Anna Hightower, who surged to an impressive runner-up finish (9:11.34) as part of a loaded field in the 3,000m run.
Hightower paced a group of four top-12 finishers in the event for the Wildcats, a quartet that also included Ava Criniti (10th; 9:22.95), Maddy Whitman (11th; 9:22.95), and Jackie Holman (12th; 9:23.30), all of whom clocked new personal bests and climbed inside the top 10 in program history.
Bolstered by the aforementioned quartet's showing, Northwestern currently holds four of the Big Ten Conference's top 18 times in the 3,000m run. The Wildcats will also look to continue their climb up the league's 5,000m run leaderboard this weekend, an event in which they own six of the conference's top 18 times, with three of those falling inside the top 10.
Northwestern will split its squad for the final time during the indoor season when it competes at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic (Feb. 13) and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Feb. 14).
