EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern redshirt junior defender Jaylen Rosga won the Elite Scholar-Athlete award for the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship, the NCAA announced on Thursday.

Rosga, a Learning & Organizational Change major, carries a 4.0 GPA. She was presented with the honor on Thursday afternoon at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium.

The Wildcats have received the award five times since its inception in 2010. Previous Northwestern winners include Sara Szynal (2019), Leah Holmes (2022-23) and Hannah Johnson (2025).

A two-year starter on defense, Rosga has recorded 22 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls this season. She earned a Second Team All-Big Ten selection.

The Elite Scholar-Athlete award recognizes the true essence of student-athletes by honoring the individuals who have reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in their sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among their peers.

The Elite Scholar-Athlete award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.

Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above academically who have participated in a sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken based on the number of credits completed.
