‘Cats Look To Continue Fast Start To 2025 Friday At Big Ten Preview

Northwestern won team title at last year’s edition of the event
EVANSTON, Ill. (September 11, 2025) – Fresh off a dominant showing to begin the 2025 season, Northwestern cross country will turn its attention towards the Big Ten Conference Preview on Friday morning in East Lansing, Mich.
Action in the women's 6k race at the Forest Akers East Golf Course, site of next month's Big Ten Championships, is set to begin at 8:40 a.m. CT. A link to live results can be accessed above.
Northwestern, which won last season's Big Ten Preview in impressive fashion, will join a field highlighted by No. 17 Michigan State, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue, Ohio State, and Rutgers.
The Wildcats kicked off the 2025 campaign by bringing home the team title at the Cowboy Preview in Stillwater, Okla. on August 29. Led by individual medalist Ava Criniti (10:13.1), Northwestern claimed the top five spots on the individual leaderboard en route to posting a perfect team score of 15. Ava Earl (2nd; 10:15.5), Anna Hightower (3rd; 10:17.1), Skye Ellis (4th; 10:21.1), and Holly Smith (5th; 10:25.4) rounded out the top five.
For her efforts, Criniti was recognized as the Big Ten's Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on September 3.
Following the Big Ten Conference Preview, Northwestern will be in action close to home on Friday, October 3 for the Loyola Lakefront Invitational at Montrose Harbor in Chicago, Ill.
