
‘Cats First-Years Shine in 2-2 Draw at Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Northwestern and Milwaukee played to a 2-2 draw at Laura Moynihan Field at Engelmann Stadium on Thursday night.
The Wildcats grabbed an early lead in the second minute on sophomore forward Alex Fallon's first goal of the season, assisted by Liz Cardwell and Maddie Finnerty.
NU doubled its lead in the 19th minute on first-year defender Gabby Anderson's first career goal, assisted by Cardwell and Kennedy Roesch.
Cardwell's two assists brings her season total to a team-high three. The Joliet, Ill. native is the first Wildcat to record multiple assists in the same game since Meg Boade recorded a pair of helpers in a 3-0 win on October 20, 2023 against Minnesota and the first Wildcat first-year to add two assists to since Caterina Regazzoni did so in a 4-2 win on September 22, 2022 at Nebraska.
In the 67th minute, Panthers evened the game at two apiece on a goal by Ellie Rebmann to tie the game for good.
First-year goalkeeper Nyamma Nelson logged five saves in the contest, her second game this season with five or more saves.
The 'Cats return home on Sunday for a matchup with Butler at 1 p.m. CT on B1G+.
