Taylor Nabs Second-Straight IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week Award

EVANSTON, Ill. – As Madison Taylor continues rewriting history, the awards continue coming in.
For the second-straight week and third time this season, Taylor nabbed Offensive Player of the Week honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Taylor posted her second-straight 10+ point game with six goals and four assists in No. 2 Northwestern's NCAA Tournament Quarterfinal round win over No. 12 Penn last Thursday. The victory punched the Wildcats' ticket to their sixth-straight Final Four appearance and extended their winning streak to 10 games.
Individually, Taylor's big day broke the NCAA single-season goals record with 105 goals this season, eclipsing High Point's Abby Hormes' 2022 mark of 103. Her 10 points on the day gives the Tewaraaton Award finalist a school-record 146 this season, breaking Hannah Nielsen's 2009 total of 142. Taylor's point total is the fourth most in a single season in NCAA history, three shy of passing Maryland's Jen Adams for third all-time.
The Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and USA Lacrosse First Team All-American has posted 18 hat tricks in 20 games this season, scoring six or more goals on 10 occasions. She also has 21 points (16 goals, 5 assists) in two NCAA Tournament games. Dating back to the 2024 campaign, Taylor has hat tricks in 29 of her last 31 games.
Taylor and the Wildcats take on No. 3 Boston College on Friday in a rematch of the past two NCAA title games as they look to make their third straight NCAA final appearance. The game will be televised live on ESPNU with opening draw slated for 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday, May 23.
