Hansen's six caused turnovers tied for the second-most in a single game in program history. The last Wildcat to post six caused turnovers was Claire Quinn against Johns Hopkins on March 30, 2017. Hansen's previous career-best of five caused turnovers, tied for third in program history, was set on May 14, 2023, against Michigan.
Since the start of the 2024 season, Hansen has appeared in and started every game for the Wildcats. A 2024 Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a member of the 2024 Big Ten All-Tournament team, Hansen leads the team with 13 caused turnovers and ranks second in ground balls with 10. She currently sits second in the conference in caused turnovers per game, averaging 2.17. Last season, Hansen recorded 30 caused turnovers and was third on the team in both caused turnovers and ground balls with 35.
This marks Hansen's first career Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor. The last Wildcat to earn the accolade was Sammy White on February 26.
The Wildcats return to action this Friday, March 7, at 5:00 p.m. as they head north to face the Marquette Golden Eagles. The game will be streamed live on FloCollege: FloSports Marquette.
