Madison Taylor Earns Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week After 15-Point Weekend

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern junior Madison Taylor has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Taylor had an impressive start to the 2025 season, tallying 11 goals and 4 assists for a total of 15 points across the first two games. In Friday night's season opener against No. 13 Notre Dame, she matched her career-high with 6 goals and added an assist to propel the Wildcats to victory.
Taylor continued her strong form in Sunday's matchup against Canisius, racking up 8 points with 5 goals and 3 assists. The Wantagh, N.Y. native also contributed 7 draw controls over the weekend. After Week 1, Taylor leads the nation in points as Northwestern prepares for a highly anticipated national championship rematch against No. 1 Boston College. The No. 2 Wildcats will face off against the Eagles this Saturday, February 15, 2025, at noon CT.
Friday's contest against Notre Dame set a record for the largest crowd inside Ryan Fieldhouse, with 1,253 fans in attendance. This marks Taylor's second career Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor, her first coming on April 9, 2024, following a standout 6-goal performance against Maryland.
