Suchecki tabbed to Second Team, O’Reilly lands All-Freshman honors

EVANSTON, Ill. (November 13, 2025) – Northwestern University men's soccer student-athletes Joe Suchecki (New York, N.Y./NEST+m/Maryland) and Aaron O'Reilly (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) have earned All-Big Ten Conference honors, the league office announced on Thursday.

Earning the first All-Big Ten nod of his career, Suchecki was one of only three Wildcats to start in all 17 games this season.  The 6-foot-4 midfielder finished as Northwestern's overall points leader (13), closing the 2025 season with four goals and five assists.  Suchecki netted the game-winning goal in the Wildcats' thrilling 3-2 win over UC Riverside before adding assists in Big Ten wins over No. 17 Indiana and Ohio State.

Out of suburban Naperville, Ill., O'Reilly enjoyed an outstanding first-year campaign en route to becoming the fourth Wildcat to earn All-Freshman Team distinction under head coach Russell Payne.  The only two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week honoree this season, O'Reilly netted a team-high five goals, four of which came against conference opposition, in addition to a pair of assists.  He scored in three of Northwestern's last four games, a stretch capped off by the game-winning tally in the Wildcats' 2-1 triumph against Ohio State to close the regular season.

Along with the announcement of the All-Big Ten Teams, the conference also recognized its 11 Sportsmanship Award honorees, with Jayvin Van Deventer (Lee's Summit, Mo./Blue Springs South) bringing home the honor for Northwestern.
