CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - After scoring seven points across the Big Ten Tournament Semifinal and Championship victories, Northwestern field hockey's Grace Schulze has earned national recognition. The graduate student was tabbed National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Offensive Player of the Week, becoming the fourth Wildcat to collect national honors this season.

Schulze posted three goals en route to the Wildcats' tournament title and was named Tournament Most Outstanding Player by the conference. Also logging an assist and a defensive save, she earned All-Tournament honors, on top of accomplishing her highest-scoring season. Schulze has 12 goals on the year, twice as many as her previous season-best.
Her first time being tabbed as an NFHCA Player of the Week, Schulze is an offensive leader for NU, with the second-most points (30), third-most goals (12), and sharing the claim for most gamewinners (five) with Ilse Tromp. In the Big Ten, Schulze is fourth in points and sixth in points per game (1.39).

Joining Juliana Boon (Sept. 10), Tromp (Oct. 8), and Ashley Sessa (Oct. 29), Schulze and NU have had an impressive showing in the national weekly honor roll. The 'Cats lead the nation with four selections, matching NU's total from last season.
Schulze and the 'Cats take on No. 12 Yale on Friday, Nov. 14, for their first round matchup of the NCAA Tournament. The top-15 clash in Charlottesville, Va., is slated for a 1:30 p.m. CT pass-back, to be streamed on ESPN+.
