EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern swimming and diving head coach Rachel Stratton-Mills announced the addition of former Wildcat diver Olivia Rosendahl to the staff as a Diving Graduate Assistant on Wednesday.
Rosendahl, a two-time national champion and six-time All-American at Northwestern, returns to Evanston after most recently serving as Director of Operations for USA Diving.
"It's incredibly special to welcome Olivia back to Northwestern," Stratton-Mills said. "She is one of the most accomplished athletes in our program's history and has continued to make an impact on the sport at the national level. Our divers will benefit tremendously from her experience, perspective, and passion for this program, and I know she will be an outstanding mentor for our student-athletes."
During her four-year career with the Wildcats, Rosendahl put together one of the most polished diving resumes in Northwestern history.
When the Los Angeles native arrived on campus for her freshman season in 2015, she took the Big Ten diving world by storm, leading the Wildcats in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events. The four-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week reached the championship finals at the Big Ten Championships in all three events and qualified for the NCAA Championships in 1-meter and platform.
As a sophomore during the 2016-2017 season, Rosendahl became Northwestern's first-ever national champion with a career-best score and first-place finish in the platform. She also finished eighth in the 3-meter at the NCAA Championships, becoming the first Wildcat to earn multiple All-American honors since the 1999-2000 season.
Rosendahl continued her string of success into the 2017-2018 season, taking home a second straight national championship in platform and becoming Northwestern's first-ever Big Ten Diver of the Year. She was awarded Co-Diver of the Big Ten Championships and won the 3-meter event there, setting a school-record high score of 389.95 in the process.
She recorded the highest team score in 1-meter (356.15), 3-meter (389.20) and platform (364.40) during her senior season, earning All-American honors once again.
As of the conclusion of her career, Rosendahl held all three Northwestern women's diving records.
