Saiprakash Goli Named Big Ten Player to Watch

Evanston, Ill. - Graduate student Saiprakash Goli was named a Big Ten Men's Tennis Player to Watch, the conference announced Friday. Goli's selection follows an impressive 2024 dual season, along with a solid fall performance to follow.
Goli notched 13 wins in his senior campaign last spring - nine in singles matches and four in doubles. Most notably, he provided the deciding point with a tiebreak victory in the 'Cats' 4-3 defeat of No. 8 Duke, and also picked up a ranked win against No. 21 Alabama. In the Big Ten Tournament, Goli swept his opponent to help Northwestern defeat Wisconsin and advance to the quarterfinals.
This fall, Goli earned an invite to the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, where he reached the semifinals in both singles and doubles action, the latter alongside partner Owen Megargee. Goli also picked up a win in the ITA Midwest Regional, advancing to the Round of 32 in singles play.
Goli will lead the 'Cats into action on January 17, when men's tennis is set to host UIC and Saint Joseph's at home in a doubleheader to open their 2025 dual season. First serve against the Flames is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT, with a 6 p.m. first serve against the Hawks to follow.
