
Wildcats Fall in Three Sets to Wisconsin

EVANSTON, Ill -- The Northwestern Wildcats could not overcome a potent Badgers offense Saturday at home, falling to Wisconsin in straight sets (16-25, 16-25, 15-25).
The loss dropped Northwestern's record to 3-7 overall and 1-1 in Big Ten action.
Lily Wagner finished with six kills on the day to lead the Wildcats offense. They got six digs from Drew Wright to lead them defensively.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Wildcats found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-16. Northwestern trailed by as many as nine points as Wisconsin grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up three times before the Badgers took control.
SET 2 | Northwestern then lost the second set 25-16 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Wildcats lost the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Wisconsin finished off the sweep with a set-three victory. The Wildcats fell in a tough set 25-15. Northwestern trailed by as many as 10 points as Wisconsin grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up two times before the Badgers took over the lead.
Game Notes
» Lily Wagner tallied six kills to tie for the team high, the first time this season she has led the offense.
» Northwestern attackers were helped by a team-high 11 assists from Lauren Carter. She has now reached double digits in three straight matches.

Northwestern is back in action next Friday at Welsh-Ryan Arena when they host Purdue to continue their conference schedule. First serve in that match is set for 7 p.m.
