EVANSTON, Ill. - Piloted by head coach Claire Pollard in her 24th season, Northwestern women's tennis unveiled their 2024 fall schedule on Monday.
The 'Cats will compete in four invitational tournaments this fall, including their first of the year in the Notre Dame Invite (Oct. 4-6). They'll make two visits to Michigan State during tournament season, first for the Green & White Championship (Oct. 25-27) and then again for Spartan Invite (Nov. 1-3). Rounding out their schedule is the TCU Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas (Oct. 31-Nov. 3).
Tennis season is set to open with the ITA All-American Championships, the first of three ITA Championship rounds during the fall. Hosted in Cary, N.C., ITA All-Americans (Sept. 21-29) will be followed by Regionals (Oct. 10-14) and Sectionals (Nov. 7-10). All three rounds have Championship implications, as the top finishers in each category from each competition earn bids to the NCAA Tournaments.
Fall season will conclude with national champions crowned, as, for the first time ever, the NCAA will hold Singles and Doubles Championships for both men's and women's tennis in the fall. With qualifiers determined through the ITA Championships, the women's competitions will take place from Nov. 19-24 at Baylor in Waco, Texas.
The 'Cats return six players from last year's roster for the 2024-25 season and will welcome four newcomers; three first years - Erica Jessel, Maia Loureiro and Mika Dagan Fruchtman - and incoming undergraduate transfer from MIT, Katya Shepherd.
Women's tennis' winter and spring dual schedule, including conference and non-conference matchups, will be released at a later date.
