‘Cats Debut At No. 12 In United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll

Northwestern back home on Friday to host Drake

EVANSTON, Ill. (August 27, 2024) – Coming off back-to-back wins to begin the 2024 campaign, Northwestern has appeared at No. 12 in the first United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll of the regular season, which was announced by the organization on Tuesday.


 
The 'Cats are one of four Big Ten Conference sides to appear in national poll, joining No. 10 UCLA, No. 20 Ohio State, and No. 22 Wisconsin.
 
Fourth-year head coach Russell Payne's team opened the newly renovated Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium in style last week, dispatching Green Bay, 2-0, and DePaul, 2-1.
 
Northwestern wraps up a season-opening three-match homestand on Friday, August 30 when it plays host to Drake in a 7 p.m. kickoff.  The Wildcats then turn their attention to Chicago's West Side for a Labor Day tilt with UIC at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 2.
