Northwestern Men’s Soccer Unveils 2024 Schedule

‘Cats to face quartet of 2023 NCAA Tournament participants
EVANSTON, Ill. (July 19, 2024) – Fresh off leading the Wildcats to their first 10-win season since 2013, head coach Russell Payne announced the Northwestern University men's soccer team's schedule for the upcoming 2024 season on Friday. The Wildcats 17-game regular season slate features 10 home dates and includes matchups against four NCAA Tournament qualifiers from last season.
After hosting Milwaukee (Aug. 10) and visiting Purdue Fort Wayne (Aug. 16) for exhibition tilts, Payne's crew will raise the curtain on its 2024 slate with a three-match homestand at the newly renovated Lanny and Sharon Martin Lakeside Facility. Reigning Horizon League Champion Green Bay will provide the opposition in the home opener on August 22 ahead of meetings with local rival DePaul (Aug. 25) and Drake (Aug. 30).
Northwestern opens the month of September with a pair of road tests, making the short trek to the West Side to battle UIC on Labor Day (Sept. 2) before closing out the week at Western Michigan (Sept. 6), which enjoyed a run to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2023. The 'Cats return home on September 9, welcoming Marquette to the shores of Lake Michigan.
The Big Ten Conference gauntlet begins with a pair of matchups against league newcomers as Northwestern hosts UCLA (Sept. 13) and travels to Washington (Sept. 20). A home clash with Maryland (Sept. 27) rounds out September.
Visits to Michigan State (Oct. 1) and Rutgers (Oct. 11) bookend a home non-conference tilt with Trine on October 6. Northwestern entertains Wisconsin on October 15, opening a stretch that sees the 'Cats play three of their final five matches at the Lanny and Sharon Martin Lakeside Facility. After a home clash with Michigan (Oct. 18) in a rematch from last season's Big Ten Tournament, the Wildcats close out their road slate against Ohio State (Oct. 25) and Indiana (Oct. 29), respectively. Northwestern closes out the regular season by welcoming Penn State to Evanston on November 3.
