EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern Athletics announced two leadership positions for Aaron Hosmon and Jane Wagner. Hosmon has been named Senior Associate A.D. for Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, while Wagner has been named Associate A.D. for Sport Administration.
Both roles mark a restructuring in the compliance department as Northwestern adapts to a shifting collegiate athletics landscape. Hosmon and Wagner will both report to Deputy Director of Athletics (Administration and Policy)/Senior Woman Administrator, Janna Blais, and serve on the department's leadership cabinet.
Hosmon returns to Northwestern University, having previously worked at his alma mater for more than 16 years from 2004-2020 before spending four years as the Associate Executive Director/Compliance & Governance for the Ivy League conference office.
"We are thrilled to welcome Aaron back to Northwestern," said Blais. "His breadth of experience, proven creativity in problem solving, critical thinking skills, and forward-looking approach to his work make him the ideal addition to our team. Aaron will play a key role in the leadership of our department, focusing his work in leading our compliance unit with an emphasis in government relations as well as name, image, and likeness."
"I could not be more honored to be back home at Northwestern and would like to thank Janna, Dr. Gragg, and the rest of the leadership team for this wonderful opportunity," said Hosmon. "Being a Wildcat has had such a profound impact on my life and my family in so many ways, and I am truly excited to be back working alongside so many great partners in NUDAR and across campus in support of that world-class student experience once again."
Wagner was elevated to the newly created Associate A.D. for Sport Administration position this June after spending the last 13 years in Northwestern's compliance department.
"Elevating Jane into this role will have an immediate impact on the advancement of our Sport Administration program," said Blais. "Jane's unwavering commitment to our student-athletes, along with her dedication to the betterment of our department, will allow her to flourish in this newly developed position. The thoughtful perspective that Jane brings to this job will be invaluable, and we look forward to her contributions to our leadership team."
"I have truly enjoyed my years at Northwestern, largely because of the people I've had the privilege to work with," said Wagner. "With this new role, I am committed to helping grow our department while supporting our amazing coaches and talented student-athletes every step of the way. I look forward to contributing to our shared success and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive."
