Big Ten Unveils 2024 Volleyball Schedule

Northwestern to host Wisconsin in league home opener on September 28
EVANSTON, Ill. (June 12, 2024) – Northwestern volleyball's Big Ten Conference schedule for the 2024 season was announced on Wednesday by the league office. Piloted by first-year head coach Tim Nollan, the Wildcats, who will open league play on the road at Maryland on September 26, will face seven NCAA Tournament qualifiers from a season ago as part of a 20-match gauntlet.
After battling the Terrapins, Northwestern will return home to open a brief two-match homestand that features clashes with 2023 NCAA Final Four participant Wisconsin (Sept. 28) and Purdue (Oct. 4). A trek south down Interstate 57 follows, as the 'Cats visit in-state rival Illinois on October 6.
An October 10 home date with Ohio State begins a stretch that sees Nollan's crew play three of four matches within the friendly confines of Welsh-Ryan Arena. After closing its season series with Wisconsin (Oct. 13), Northwestern returns to Evanston on October 16 to take on Iowa ahead of hosting Big Ten newcomer UCLA (Oct. 19). The month concludes with road trips to Minnesota (Oct. 23) and Indiana (Oct. 27).
November begins with a challenging stretch at home, with matchups against Illinois (Nov. 1) and Penn State (Nov. 8) bookending a visit from reigning Big Ten Champion and 2023 NCAA National Runner-Up Nebraska on November 2. Following a trip to Iowa on November 10 to begin a three-match road swing, the Wildcats jet to the Pacific Northwest for their first meetings with Oregon (Nov. 15) and Washington (Nov. 17) as Big Ten rivals.
The last of four new league members makes its way to Welsh-Ryan Arena on November 21 when the 'Cats entertain USC before wrapping up the home slate against Rutgers (Nov. 23). Northwestern closes the regular season with a two-match swing through the state of Michigan, with dates against Michigan State (Nov. 27) and Michigan (Nov. 29) on the docket.
Fans can secure their seat inside Welsh-Ryan Arena for the upcoming season by placing a $25 deposit for season tickets. A member of the Northwestern Ticket Office will be in contact once tickets are available for purchase.
