Izzy Scane: Attacker of the Year
Northwestern graduate attacker Izzy Scane was unanimously named the Big Ten Conference's Attacker of the Year, the conference announced Monday.
She scored 70 goals throughout the season, ranking fifth in the nation and second in the Big Ten. With 87 points, she was second in the Big Ten. She had at least four goals in 11 of 17 games, including a team-high five goals in a Big Ten Tournament final win over Penn State. She was the Wildcats' leading scorer — or tied for such an honor — in ten games this season.
In the Big Ten Tournament title game, Scane tied Charlotte North for the most goals in a career with 358. Scane's five goals in the game were integral to Northwestern's 14-12 win and was named the Big Ten Women's Lacrosse Tournament MVP.
The Clarkston, Mich. native previously won the award in 2021 and 2023.
Kelly Amonte Hiller: Coach of the Year
Northwestern Combe Family Head Lacrosse Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller was named the Big Ten Conference's Coach of the Year, the conference announced Monday.
Northwestern had the Big Ten's best record in both season play (15-2) and conference play (5-1). The Wildcats won the Big Ten Tournament for the fourth time in the past five seasons with a 14-12 win over Penn State in the title game.
This is Amonte Hiller's fourth time winning the Big Ten Coach of the Year award, having previously won the award in 2019, 2021 and 2023.
Northwestern enters the NCAA tournament on a seven-game winning streak dating back to March 25. They were named the tournament's No. 1 overall seed and will face the winner of Denver and Stanford on Sunday, May 12.
