EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern women's basketball will welcome three transfers to their roster ahead of the 2024-25 season, Head Coach Joe McKeown announced Friday. The 'Cats added graduate transfers Kyla Jones (Brown) and Taylor Williams (Michigan) as well as an undergraduate transfer in Grace Sullivan (Bucknell).

KYLA JONES
Jones is coming off a senior season that earned her First Team All-Ivy recognition at Brown. The 5'9" guard averaged a team-high 17.1 points per game during the 2023-24 campaign, good for third in the conference. Jones finished the year with the second highest field goal percentage in the Ivy League, at 45.7, the seventh most steals-per-game, at 1.62, and the tenth most assists, at 2.85. Her 4.7 rebounds-per-game average ranked third on the Bears and first among guards.

A terrific scorer, Jones had 20 games of double-digit scoring in 2023-24, including nine games of 20+ points and two games with 30+ points. On February 17th, she became the 23rd player in Brown history to hit the 1,000-point mark, finishing her Brown career with 1,097 points total.

Jones' transfer to Northwestern will be a homecoming for the Chicago native, who attended Whitney M. Young Magnet High School and earned First Team All-State honors in Illinois.

McKeown on Jones: We are looking forward to the opportunity to coach Kyla as she brings a great attitude, energy and skillset to the Big Ten. She had a great career at Brown as well as at Whitney Young High School in Chicago. Her experience in the Ivy League and her academic success makes her a great role model for our younger student-athletes. We're really excited to have her part of our Wildcat program!

GRACE SULLIVAN
Sullivan, a 6 '4'' forward, joins the 'Cats after two seasons at Bucknell. She averaged 8.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the field during the 2023-24 season. Her sophomore campaign contained ten games of double-digit scoring, including a career-high 28 points on 10-14 shooting as part of a double-double against Loyola Maryland (2/28). That game came in the midst of a seven-game double-digit scoring streak for Sullivan, which extended from Feb. 4 to March 2.

An Illinois native, Sullivan previously played at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Ill. In high school, she received second team all-state recognition from the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and set Carmel Catholic school records in career points (1,222), rebounds (817) and blocks (102).

McKeown on Sullivan: We are really excited to welcome Grace back to the Chicagoland area! She was an outstanding high school player in the area and gained valuable experience at Bucknell the past two years. We love her versatility, ability to run the floor and rebound. She will be a great addition to the 'Cats both on and off the court!

TAYLOR WILLIAMS
A 6'2" forward, Williams will join the Wildcats after playing the past season with Michigan and the previous four years at Western Michigan.

In her season with the Wolverines, Williams appeared in 24 games, starting six times. She averaged 4.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 11.4 minutes per game.

Prior to that, Williams put up record-breaking numbers for the Broncos. She tied the WMU single-game record for rebounds with 21 and became the 28th player in school history to join the 1,000-point club. During her first season in Kalamazoo, Williams was one of only three players in the NCAA to log a 30-point, 20-rebound game. By her junior season, Williams started in 26 of the 28 games she played, averaging 23.7 minutes per game. She shot 45.8 percent from the field that year, good for 14.7 points per game. The efforts over three years earned her numerous conference awards, including All-MAC honorable mentions for the 2020-21 and 2022-23 seasons, All-MAC Freshman Team honors her first year and All-MAC Defensive honors her junior year.

McKeown on Williams: Really excited that Taylor chose to extend her career at Northwestern! Having played in the Big Ten after an outstanding three years at Western Michigan, she brings great experience to our program. Her ability to play multiple positions and defend all over the court will be a great asset for the Wildcats. She brings a wealth of experience and great energy to our team.

Sullivan, Jones and Williams will join incoming first years Tayla Thomas, Claire Keswick and Xamiya Walton as additions to the 'Cats' 2024-25 roster.
