'Cats Close Home Schedule with No. 58 Purdue and Indiana

EVANSTON, Ill. - No. 37 Northwestern women's tennis will try to preserve their perfect 9-0 home record this weekend as they host two Big Ten opponents in Evanston. The 'Cats will take on No. 58 Purdue on Friday at 4:30 and then Indiana on Sunday at noon.
The Wildcats have won six of their seven Big Ten matchups so far this season, giving them a 15-5 overall record. Last weekend, Northwestern took down No. 30 Wisconsin at home and then Minnesota on the road.
To kick off the weekend, the Wildcats (15-5, 6-1 B1G) will take on the Boilermakers (11-7, 4-4 B1G). Purdue most recently won against Nebraska 4-1 at home last weekend. Northwestern has dominated Purdue 45-1 in their all time series record. The last time the two teams faced one another was in 2021 at Combe Tennis Center, where the Wildcats swept the Boilermakers 4-0.
Northwestern will then face Indiana (6-16, 0-8 B1G) to wrap up the weekend. The Hoosiers are on a nine-match losing streak heading into the weekend. The two teams' most recent matchup was last year in Bloomington, where Northwestern knocked off then-No. 72 Indiana, 5-2. The all-time series matchup between the two teams leans in favor of the Wildcats, at 34-21.
Northwestern heads into this weekend ranked No. 37. Justine Leong is ranked No. 116 nationally for singles with the duo of Justine Leong and Christina Hand holding a national ranking of 57 for doubles.
These two matches mark the last home matches of the season. After this weekend, the 'Cats will wrap up the regular season on the road at Ohio State next Friday and Penn State on Sunday.
