'Cats Open Homestand with Midweek Matchup against NIU

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern baseball returns home to open its five-game homestand with a midweek contest against NIU on Tuesday at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park at 3:30 p.m. CT on B1G+.
McNeese Recap
Northwestern closed out its Spring Break Trip with a three-game series at McNeese last weekend. The Wildcats opened up the series on the right foot, taking the series opener 12-4 behind home runs from Trent Liolios and Jackson Freeman and a strong outing in relief from Matt McClure. Despite six shutout innings from Kyle Potthoff, the 'Cats dropped a 1-0 pitcher's duel on Saturday. In the rubber match, the Cowboys claimed a 6-3 win to take the series.

Northern Illinois enters Tuesday's contest at 8-16 overall and 5-4 in MAC play. Eric Erato leads the Huskies with a .363 batting average, starting all 24 games for NIU.
