ROSEMONT, Ill. – Senior guard Boo Buie earned Unanimous First Team All-Big Ten recognition, while junior guard Brooks Barnhizer was named Big Ten All-Defensive Team, Third Team All-Big Ten by the conference coaches and Honorable Mention All-Big Ten by the conference media, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Additionally, senior guard Ty Berry earned Big Ten Sportsmanship honoree recognition.

Buie is the first Wildcat to earn unanimous First Team All-Big Ten recognition in program history, and the first to earn consensus First Team All-Big Ten honors since John Shurna in 2012. Buie becomes Northwestern's first two-time First Team All-Big Ten honoree since Evan Eschmeyer (3x - 1997, 1998, 1999), and Northwestern's first two-time All-Big Ten honoree since Drew Crawford (2012, 2014).

The Albany, N.Y. product ranked fourth in the Big Ten in both scoring and assists, averaging 18.9 points per game while dishing out 5.2 assists per game, the only player in the league to rank in the top five of both categories. During conference play, Buie became the first Big Ten player to record 20-plus points and 5-plus assists per game since 2015-16.

He is the only high-major player nationally averaging 18-plus points and five-plus assists per game. This season, Buie has recorded eight games of 20-plus points and seven-plus assists, the most of any player in the country.

Buie improved his three-point percentage from 31.8% (64-for-201) in 2022-23 to 43.1% in 2023-24 (78-for-181). In league games, Buie leads the Big Ten, shooting a blistering 48.3% (57-for-118) from deep. Barnhizer's selection to the third team marks his first career All-Big Ten recognition in his first year starting for the Wildcats. Barnhizer's selection marks the second consecutive year in which a Northwestern player has earned All-Defensive Team and All-Big Ten recognition (Chase Audige).

In his first season starting for the Wildcats, Barnhizer is averaging 14.6 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game. Barnhizer's eight double-doubles this season rank tied for fourth-most in a single-season at Northwestern since 1996-97. Barnhizer is the only Big Ten player to average 14.6-plus points per game, 7.3-plus rebounds per game, 2.7-plus assists per game, and 1.9-plus steals per game since 1996-97.

The Lafayette, Ind. native's 1.9 steals per game ranked fourth in the Big Ten. His 7.3 rebounds per game and 6.1 defensive rebounds per game both lead the Big Ten among guards. Ty Berry was selected as Northwestern's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient. The senior played in 23 games this season and will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury. Berry posted the best numbers of his career averaging 11.6 points per game, while shooting 43.3% from 3-point range. No. 4-seed Northwestern will play in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals on Friday, March 15 at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn. at approximately 1:30 p.m. CT on BTN and WGN Radio 720.
