Wildcats Open Home Slate with Midweek Matchup

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern Baseball is set to open its 2024 home slate in a midweek matchup against Illinois State at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park on Tuesday, February 27. First pitch from Evanston is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on B1G+. Admission for Tuesday's game will be free to all fans.
Weekend Recap
Last weekend, NU headed to Durham to take on No. 12 Duke. In Game One, the 'Cats got seven strong innings from Nolan Morr, allowing just two runs on six hits while striking out seven Blue Devils. The 'Cats outhit Duke 7-6, but were unable to bring any baserunners around in a 2-0 loss. In Game Two, Duke scored five first inning runs en route to an 8-2 victory. In the series finale, Duke claimed a 20-9 victory.
Bennett Markinson boasts a six-game hitting streak for the Wildcats, batting a team-high .375 over the team's first two series.
Owen McElfatrick slugged the first home run of the 2024 season, a two-run shot to left field in the first inning on Sunday.
