Women's Tennis Home to Face Marshall, Brown, NIU

EVANSTON, Ill. – After nearly a month on the road, Northwestern women's tennis will return to Combe Tennis Center this weekend to host a trio of non-conference opponents. The Wildcats will take on Marshall on Friday at 4:30, then host Brown and NIU at noon and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The 'Cats went 1-3 during their three-week road trip, with all three losses coming at the hands of ranked opponents. Most recently, Northwestern took No. 23 Georgia Tech and No. 22 Vanderbilt to the wire, falling 4-3 to both opponents over the last two weekends. Northwestern returns home with an overall record of 4-3.
To start off the weekend, the Wildcats will host 8-2 Marshall on Friday. The Herd has won five straight over the last three weeks, with their only two losses this season coming against No. 12 Virginia on Jan. 20 and West Virginia on Jan. 27.
On Sunday, the 'Cats will begin with Brown, which enters the weekend 4-3 overall. The Brown Bears boast one ranked doubles pair in No. 34 Phoebe Peus and Lindsey Hofflander. After that, Northwestern will take on NIU. The Huskies are 3-4 with wins over Marquette, Bellarmine and UNI.
This weekend's homestand will be followed by another brief stint on the road at Kansas and Arkansas, then the 'Cats will return to Combe on March 1 to close out their non-conference schedule against Memphis.
