Second-Seeded Wildcats Set for NCAA Tournament Run After Impressive Season

EVANSTON, Ill. β Northwestern field hockey enters the NCAA Tournament as the No. 2 seed, following a standout 19-1 season. This marks the Wildcats' sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, maintaining their No. 2 seed from last year. The tournament bracket was unveiled during the Selection Show on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 9 p.m. CT on NCAA.com.

Lakeside Field will be the stage for four tournament games this week, starting with an opening-round matchup on Wednesday, Nov. 13, between Miami (OH) (13-7) and Vermont (11-8). The winner of that game will face Northwestern on Friday, Nov. 15, at noon CT. Later that day, Virginia (13-4) will go up against Michigan (15-4) at 2:30 p.m. CT, vying for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Northwestern heads into the tournament after an impressive season, finishing Big Ten play undefeated at 8-0 and capturing their eighth regular-season conference title. This season's success further cements the Wildcats' status as a powerhouse in collegiate field hockey.
The quarterfinal at Lakeside Field is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. CT. The tournament then shifts to Phyllis Ocker Field in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with semifinal games on Friday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. CT.Β The national championship game is set for Sunday, Nov. 24, at 12:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
