Wildcats Fall in Straight Sets to UCLA

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern volleyball team gave the Bruins everything they could handle in the first two sets, but ultimately could not beat UCLA on Sunday at home, falling in straight sets (26-28, 26-28, 10-25).
The loss dropped Northwestern's record to 4-12 overall and 2-6 in Big Ten play.
Kennedy Hill finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Wildcats offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .308. Northwestern got 14 digs from Drew Wright along with six blocks from Hill and five rejections from Kathryn Randorf to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Wildcats rallied from a seven-point 14-7 deficit, but UCLA held on to win the first set 28-26.
SET 2 | A 28-26 second-set loss put Northwestern in a 2-0 hole in the match. The Wildcats fell in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied 18 times. Neither team led by more than three points along the way.
SET 3 | Northwestern was not able to win set three and was swept by UCLA. The Wildcats dropped the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set 25-10.

The 'Cats will hit the road this week for two in a row away from Evanston. They'll take on No. 14 Minnesota on Wednesday before heading to Indiana to face off with the Hoosiers on Sunday. Both matches will be televised on Big Ten Network.
