EVANSTON, Ill. — Kristen Kjellman Marshall, one of the most decorated players in Northwestern lacrosse history, has been named to the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Class of 2024, as announced by USA Lacrosse. Marshall, who helped lead the Wildcats to three consecutive NCAA championships, will be inducted on January 11, 2025, in a ceremony at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.

Marshall played a crucial role in the early years of Northwestern's lacrosse dynasty, contributing to NCAA titles in 2005, 2006, and 2007. During her remarkable career, she became the first four-time All-American in program history, earning three First-Team All-American honors. She was also the first player in NCAA history, male or female, to win the prestigious Tewaaraton Trophy in consecutive seasons (2006 and 2007), awarded to the nation's top collegiate player.

Known for her exceptional skill as a midfielder, Marshall was named the IWLCA National Midfielder of the Year three times and finished her career as Northwestern's all-time leader in goals scored (250) and points (349). These records stood as benchmarks for excellence in the Wildcats' storied program.

Beyond her collegiate success, Marshall was a standout on the international stage. She was a key player for the U.S. Women's National Team, helping Team USA capture the 2009 World Championship. Her performance earned her a spot on the All-World Team, further solidifying her legacy as one of the sport's all-time greats.

Marshall's latest honor follows her previous inductions into the Northwestern Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012 and the USA Lacrosse Eastern Massachusetts Chapter Hall of Fame in 2017.

In joining the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Marshall becomes part of an elite group of lacrosse legends. The Class of 2024 also includes Carol Cantele, John Grant Jr., Brodie Merrill, Patti Klecha-Porter, Paul Rabil, Betsy Meng Ramsey, and Vin LoBello (posthumous).

The National Lacrosse Hall of Fame selection process, overseen by USA Lacrosse, involves a rigorous annual voting system that includes Hall of Fame members, U.S. National Team players and coaches, elite coaches, officials, and individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth of lacrosse.
