EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's basketball will celebrate the 38th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on February 4 at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Programming throughout the day is designed to build community as the program celebrates and lifts the amazing voices of those who continue to carve a path for girls and women on and off the playing field.
For the second year in a row, the day's events will open with a Women in Sports Panel. This year's panel will be moderated by Northwestern Volleyball's Sienna Noordermeer and will feature representatives from Athletes Unlimited, the Chicago Sky and more. The panel will be hosted from noon to 1 p.m. in the Wilson Club, and anyone with a ticket to the afternoon's game against Wisconsin is encouraged to attend. If you plan to be there, please RSVP here.
Northwestern is also thrilled to continue their Junior Roles program for a second year, welcoming girls eighth grade and younger to join the athletics staff for the day and contribute as junior members of the gameday team. Participants will have the opportunity to shadow a member of Northwestern's staff and gain hands-on experience working behind the scenes in college sports. Available positions include social media, spirit squad, marketing and more! For more information, visit our role descriptions, and to apply for a junior role, please fill out the application form.
Anybody with a ticket to the game against Wisconsin is welcome to participate in the day's festivities. Single-game tickets are available for purchase here. In addition, tickets to the premium Full Court Experience, which includes access to the Wilson Club and unlimited food and beverages, are available for that afternoon's game. Packages are available with or without alcohol.
Northwestern women's basketball believes sport activates and inspires girls and women to gain confidence, strength, and character as they become strong leaders. The program looks forward to celebrating past, present and future leaders on February 4.
