Women's Tennis Hosts Butler, Eastern Michigan in Doubleheader

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's tennis will look to open their season with a win streak this Saturday when they play a doubleheader at Combe Tennis Center. The Wildcats will take on Butler at 10 a.m. CT and Eastern Michigan at 4 p.m. CT in their first home matches of the 2024 season.
On Monday, the 'Cats took down FAU by a score of 4-3 in Boca Raton. Christina Hand, Kiley Rabjohns, Sydney Pratt and Jennifer Riester all picked up singles wins for Northwestern to account for all four of the team's points.
The Wildcats' first match on Saturday comes against Butler. The Bulldogs were rolled by Indiana in their opener, losing 7-0. The match will mark the home-opener for Northwestern.
Later in the afternoon, the purple and white will face off against Eastern Michigan at 4 p.m. EMU will make their season debut against the 'Cats.
Northwestern enters the season with one pairing appearing on the ITA's player's rankings. Justine Leong and Christina Hand check in at No. 39 on the ITA doubles rankings. They fell in their first match 4-6 to the FAU pairing of Panna Bartha and Carla Galmiche.
Following Saturday's affairs, Northwestern will travel to College Station, Texas to take on Texas A&M in the ITA Kickoff at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 27th. They will follow that up by taking on either TCU or Rice on Sunday, Jan. 28th at 12 p.m. CT.
