NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Northwestern and Vanderbilt played to a 3-3 draw Sunday on the road at Vanderbilt Soccer Complex.
The tie saw the 'Cats move to 4-0-2 on the season. Northwestern is unbeaten through six games for the first time since 2018.
How it Happened
Northwestern grabbed a 1-0 lead when Aurea Del Carmen curled a shot into the top right corner of the goal in the seventh minute.
The Commodores equalized on a goal from Addie Porter in the 14th minute, assisted by Rachel Deresky and Kate Devine.
Northwestern retook the lead on a sensational individual effort from Meg Boade to dispossess a Commodore defender and chip the Vanderbilt goalkeeper to take a 2-1 lead in the 22nd minute.
The Wildcats extended the lead in the 24th minute, when a Meg Boade corner kick found Ella Hase in the box, who made no mistake for her fourth goal of the season. Boade notched her sixth assist of the season on the goal.
Vanderbilt narrowed the gap on Northwestern to make it a 3-2 game on Courtney Jones' goal in the 50th minute, assisted by Ella Eggleston.
The Commodores leveled the game at 3-3 thanks to an 85th-minute goal from Eggleston, assisted by Alex Wagner. The 3-3 deadlock held for the remainder of the contest.
