SPARKS, Md. — The national champion Northwestern lacrosse team will travel to face off against the U.S. and Canadian women's U20 national teams during the 2023 USA Lacrosse Fall Classic on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The Wildcats, led by Tewaaraton Award winner Izzy Scane and IWLCA first team All-American Erin Coykendall, will take on Canada at 9 a.m. CT before facing the United States at 11:30 a.m. CT at Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. Scane, along with former 'Cat Elle Hansen, won gold with the U19 team in 2019, which was coached by Kelly Amonte Hiller
The roots between Northwestern and USA lacrosse run deep. Amonte Hiller, having just secured her eighth national championship at the helm of Northwestern lacrosse, will lead the U.S. women's U20 team at the 2024 World Lacrosse Women's U20 Championship in Hong Kong, China, and this year's U20 training team features six current Northwestern players: Madison Taylor, Francesca Argentieri, Alexandra Blake, Abby LoCascio, Madison Smith and Alexis Ventresca.

This will be the first meeting between the Northwestern and U.S. U20 teams.

Amonte Hiller will coach the U.S. U20 squad for the event, while her husband and assistant coach Scott Hiller pilots Northwestern.

USA Lacrosse members can pre-purchase tickets for the Fall Classic at a discounted rate of $15 daily or a weekend package for $25. Members gain exclusive access to VIP ticket packages which include food and beverage hospitality, dedicated viewing area and more now through Sept. 5.
