EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern cross country unveiled their full fall schedule on Wednesday. The 'Cats will run up against heavily competitive fields throughout the season in hopes to return to their second consecutive NCAA Championship.
Kicking off the season is the local Flyer Flames Challenge, where the 'Cats will run a smaller group before turning to the Big Ten Preview in Madison the following weekend.
From there, the team will hit the road to Charlottesville, Virginia, to compete at the Virginia Invitational (September 23). Northwestern is one of the nation's top 31 teams from last season who were invited to preview the 2023 National Course.
The 'Cats will return home to compete the following weekend down the road at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational (September 29), going toe-to-toe with some of the top teams in the nation. To close out their trio of Illinois meets, the team will compete at the Bradley Pink Classic (October 13) in hopes to take the team title for the second year in a row.
The Championship season will begin with the Big Ten Championships in Madison, where the 'Cats will work to improve upon last year's program-record tying fifth-place team finish. From there, Northwestern will head to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for NCAA Regionals, with sights set on returning to Charlottesville for their second straight NCAA Championship appearance.
