
Men's Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern men's soccer announced its schedule for the 2023 season. The 16-match slate features 10 home dates at Martin Stadium and an eight-game Big Ten season.
The 'Cats will officially kick-off their third season under head coach Russell Payne against St. Thomas on Thursday, August 24th at Martin Stadium. Northwestern will also host NJIT during the opening weekend of the season, squaring off against the Highlanders on Sunday, August 27th.
Chicago's Big Ten Team hits the road for the first time on Friday, Sept. 1st to take on Milwaukee before traveling to DePaul on Monday, Sept. 4th. From there, the 'Cats will return to Evanston for a three-game home stand against NIU (September 8th), UIC (September 11th), and UC Riverside (September 15th).
Northwestern kicks-off the Big Ten campaign on Tuesday, September 19th at Wisconsin and will host Ohio State on Sunday, September 24th for the first home conference game of the year.
The 'Cats then travel to College Park to take on Maryland, the 2022 Big Ten regular season champions, on September 29th. Northwestern wraps up its non-conference slate with a home matchup against UW-Green Bay on October 10th.
2022 Big Ten Tournament champions Rutgers come to Evanston on Sunday, October 8th. Northwestern takes on Penn State on the road on Friday, October 13th and closes out its home schedule against Michigan State and Indiana on October 20th and 24th. The 'Cats wrap up the regular season at Michigan on Sunday, October 29th, before heading to the Big Ten Tournament (10/29-11/12).
It is the first time in program history that the 'Cats will face St Thomas, NJIT, or UC Riverside.
The September 1st game against Milwaukee will be the 20th matchup between the two programs in their histories and second consecutive year matching up. Prior to last season's 1-1 draw, the 'Cats and Panthers had not played since 2012.
Northwestern will face DePaul for the 33rd time in school history, boasting a 19-10-3 record over the intrastate rivals.
Admission to Northwestern soccer matches at Martin Stadium is free all regular season long.
