EVANSTON, Ill. — A quartet of Northwestern Wildcats found their way to IWCLA All-American teams this season. Izzy Scane and Erin Coykendall represent purple and white on the first team while Hailey Rhatigan and Samantha White received second team recognition.
Scane headlines the crew as the nation's leading goal scorer averaging 4.94 goals per game. Her 89 goals this season are second in program history, trailing only the 98 she scored in 2021. She has earned four IWCLA Player of the Week awards, her most recent win coming after she posted seven goals and three assists in No. 1 Northwestern's quartefinal win over Loyola Maryland. This is Scane's second IWCLA First Team All American selection – she also received the honor in 2021.
Coykendall joins her fellow Tewaaraton finalist Scane on the first team after a stellar senior season. She currently stands at seventh in program history with 45 helpers this season, her best mark since she dished out 44 assists in 2021. And that's not to mention her 53 goals. This is Coykendall's first IWCLA All-American selection.
Northwestern's resident lefty threat Rhatigan received second team recognition. She leads Northwestern with seven game winners this season and is second in goals with 55. Rhatigan also leads all active NCAA players with 283 career goals.
White rounds out the group, representing the Wildcat defense. She leads the team with 27 caused turnovers and is second in ground balls and draw controls with 32 and 59 respectively. This is both Rhatigan and White's first IWCLA All-American recognition.
All four will return to the field tomorrow when they face Denver in the NCAA Semifinals at 2 p.m. CT in Cary, NC. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
