CHICAGO, Ill. – Chicago's Big Ten Team will hit the city on Tuesday as Northwestern baseball prepares to host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Wrigley Field. First pitch at the Friendly Confines is set for 5:00 p.m., with action to be broadcast on B1G+.

Northwestern (8-38, 3-18 B1G) will play at Wrigley Field for the second time in program history and the first time since 2013, when the 'Cats beat Michigan 6-0. They'll face off with Notre Dame (29-19, 14-13 ACC) for the second and final time this year after falling 12-0 to the Irish on the road in April.

The Wildcats will put junior right-hander Matt McClure up to the task against the Irish, sending him out for his team-leading 13th start of the season. McClure last pitched on Tuesday against Milwaukee, when he spun two perfect innings against the Panthers. He'll face Notre Dame for the first time in his career at the Confines.

Though they dropped all three games over the weekend in Michigan, the 'Cats showed fight against the Wolverines. Right-hander Sam Garewal was a highlight, logging 5.1 innings in a two-run start on Saturday. During the outing, Garewal struck out ten batters - the most by any Wildcat pitcher in a start this season.

On the offensive side, Northwestern got some standout performances from a few key contributors. Senior Stephen Hrustich started all three games and hit .636 on the weekend (7-for-11), scoring five runs and driving in two with three doubles and a home run. Grad student Kevin Ferrer also contributed with a 4-for-8 weekend that included a home run and four RBI. Continuing his hot streak at the plate was sophomore Bennett Markinson, who went 5-for-12 with two doubles.

After facing Notre Dame, Northwestern will prepare for their final series of the season - a home matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes. First pitch in Thursday's opener is set for 4:00 p.m., with games at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday to follow.
