EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Northwestern Wildcats rallied from a 3-1 deficit to walk off the Illinois Fighting Illini on Friday afternoon, taking a 4-3 victory in the series opener.

on a two-run single off the bat of Cooper Foard to pick up the 4-3 win over the Illinois Fighting Illini Friday.

Senior Coby Moe (1-0) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Northwestern (4-20, 2-2). The right-hander went two shutout innings, giving up only one hit and striking out three. He followed a quality start from junior Matt McClure, who threw six innings, gave up two runs on five hits and struck out two.

At the plate, the Wildcats were led by senior Stephen Hrustich, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double and an RBI. Sophomore Alex Calarco also chipped in for Northwestern, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double and a walk. Foard capped off the victory with a two-run walkoff single to secure the win for the 'Cats.

The Wildcats got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the bottom of the first inning.

Illinois then rallied to take a 3-1 lead before Northwestern scored three runs in the bottom half of the ninth to grab the win, walking it off on a two-run single off the bat of Foard.
