‘Cats Secure Three All-American Honorable Mention Honors on Final Day of NCAA Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Northwestern women's swimming and diving wrapped up the 2023 NCAA Championships with three All-American Honorable Mention performances on night four, bringing the total to six for the competition.
After finishing 10th with a school record swim in the 100-yard butterfly, Miriam Guevara touched in 15th place in the 200-yard butterfly in 1:56.14 (recorded a season's best 1:55.18 in the preliminaries).
Jaye Patrick also had a top-16 finish, scoring 231.45 points to finish eighth in the consolation final of the platform diving.
The Wildcats got their third All-American Honorable Mention honor of the day as Lindsay Ervin, Ashley Strouse, Jamie Brennan and Ally Larson combined to finish 16th in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:14.77, a season's best and the fifth-fastest performance in program history. Ervin's leadoff leg swim of 48.66 marked a personal best, moving her up to fifth in school history for the 100-yard freestyle.
Also competing on the day was Lola Mull, who grabbed 18th in the 1650-yard freestyle in a season's best 16:03.98.
Northwestern finished the meet in 28th place with 18 points, marking the end of a 2022-2023 season which saw them finish the regular season 9-1, 6-1 B1G, and sixth at the Big Ten Championships.
