EVANSTON, ILL. -- The Northwestern women's basketball team got a 20-point performance from the bench, but fell 64-57 to the Wisconsin Badgers at home Thursday.

The Northwestern defense was a problem in Thursday's game, forcing 20 Wisconsin turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 17 points on the other end of the floor. Wood's four steals led the way individually for the Wildcats.

How It Happened

Wisconsin continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 40-29 advantage before Northwestern went on a 7-0 run to trim its deficit to 40-36 with 3:47 to go in the third. Wisconsin countered and stretched its lead to 48-43 heading into the fourth. Northwestern played well near the basket, scoring 10 of its 17 points in the paint.

Wisconsin kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 56-48 advantage before Northwestern went on an 8-0 run, finished off by Caroline Lau's jumper, to even the score at 56 all with 2:35 to go in the contest.
