Scane and Taylor Earn Weekly Honors after Monster Performances

EVANSTON, Ill. – Izzy Scane was named both IWCLA Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Big Ten Offensive Player of the week and Madison Taylor earned her second straight Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors following their key performances in Northwestern's upset of No. 3 Boston College and win over No. 14 Notre Dame.

Taylor added two goals and two assists against Notre Dame and a hat trick against Boston College. The Wantagh, N.Y. native was also active around the circle, picking up nine draws over the games. Her last Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors came following her five goal debut performance against Syracuse.

Across the two games, Scane totaled 14 goals and three assists. The bulk of those goals came against Notre Dame, where she matched her own single-game program record with 10 of Northwestern's 18 goals.

While not as prolific against Boston College, Scane was a key player for the Wildcats. She was unable to get to the net in the first half against Boston College, finding a double team every time the ball touched her stick. Down four goals going into the second half, Scane became the push the Northwestern offense needed to overcome the Eagles.

The Clarkston, Mich. native went three-for-three from the eight meter and totaled four goals in the second half to make up the differential between the Wildcats and the Eagles. Scane's final goal tied the game at 13-13 with seven minutes left to play

The Scane Train's next stop is Milwaukee, where Northwestern will face Marquette on Thursday at 5 p.m. CT.
