Taylor Locks Down First Big Ten Freshman of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. – Madison Taylor has been named the first Big Ten Freshman of the Week of the 2023 season for her performance against No. 4 Syracuse.
Just 1:45 into Saturday's match up against the Orange, Taylor scored her very first collegiate goal and the first tally of the match for the 'Cats. Taylor went on to add four more goals – three off successful free position attempts – to tie with Izzy Scane for a game-high five goals.

The Wantagh, N.Y. native was a force all over the field for the Wildcats, posting seven draw controls and picking up two ground balls.
The last 'Cat to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors was Samantha White, who also went on to win Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Taylor will be back in action this Thursday at 6 p.m. CT when No. 5 Northwestern faces off against No. 14 Notre Dame at Ryan Fieldhouse.
