Five Wildcats Earn All-Big Ten Distinction

EVANSTON, Ill. – Justin Weiss, Collin McCamy, Nigel Prince, Ugo Achara Jr., and Fritz Volmar all earned All-Big Ten distinction, the conference announced on Friday.
Justin Weiss was named First Team All-Big Ten for the second time. Weiss paced the team in both goals and assists, recording seven of each. The Syosset, N.Y. native is one of just seven players nationally with at least seven assists and at least seven goals. Weiss was named First Team All-Big Ten in 2021.
Collin McCamy was named First Team All-Big Ten after tallying four assists (second-most among 'Cats) and adding two goals. The junior out of Wake Forest, N.C. earns his second league award after making the Big Ten All-Freshman team in 2021.
Sophomore Nigel Prince earned First Team All-Big Ten recognition for his play this year. The defender has anchored the back-line for 1,434 minutes out of 1,440 total minutes this season. Prince tallied the lone-goal in a 1-0 win over Indiana on October 24.
Northwestern's three First Team All-Big Ten selections are tied for the most of any team in the conference.
Ugo Achara Jr. earned Second Team All-Big Ten recognition. The grad student appeared in 13 games, starting 10, and finished second among Wildcats with nine points and four goals.
First-year Fritz Volmar was a unanimous selection to the Big Ten's All-Freshman Team. The rookie started 15 of the team's 16 games, appearing in all 16, and scoring his first collegiate goal against Ohio State. Volmar becomes the second Wildcat to earn All-Freshman Team honors in as many years after Jason Gajadhar earned All-Freshman Team honors in 2022.
Jackson Weyman was selected as Northwestern's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. Weyman started 13 games, posting four clean sheets for the Wildcats.
