
Wildcats to Host Redhawks at Welsh-Ryan

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern women's basketball looks to bounce back and continue their home winning streak on Sunday as they host Southeast Missouri State at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
The 'Cats will face off with SEMO for the first time in program history on Sunday, making the Redhawks the second first-time opponent for Northwestern this season.
Juniors Melannie Daley and Hailey Weaver have paced the offense this season, with both reaching double-figures in all three games so far this season. This is the longest streak of double-digit scoring in Daley's career and her 19 points per game are sixth most in the Big Ten. She's also been aggressive defensively, picking up three steals per game, good for second in the Big Ten. Weaver has been lights-out from beyond the arc, knocking down threes at a 53.8% clip, the second best in the Big Ten. She is already just two makes away from tying her career high for single-season three points makes (9, set in 2022-23).
Caroline Lau had another strong game distributing the ball against Notre Dame, picking up five more assists. She currently leads the country in assists per game at 10.7. Additionally, the team's 23.7 assists per game currently rank second in the Big Ten behind Michigan State and fifth nationally.
Following action Sunday, the 'Cats will ready for a trip to Las Vegas next week, where they'll take on Florida State and either Stanford or Belmont as part of the Ball Dawgs Classic.
