Wildcat Men Claim First Place, Women Place Second at Purdue Invitational

EVANSTON, Ill. โ Northwestern Men's Swimming and Diving claimed first place at the 2023 Purdue Invitational, while the Wildcat Women claimed second place.ย
Andrew Martin kicked off Day Three's finals action placing first in the 1650 Free, with a time of 14:58.19.
Ayla Spitz continued her hot start to the season with a win in the 200 Back, finishing in 1:53.48.
David Gerchik set a Purdue Invitational Record and placed first with a 1:41.92 in the 200 Back.
Lindsay Ervin picked up a win in the 100 Free with a time of 49.03 seconds.
Maggie Papanicholas continued the strong start to her collegiate career, clocking in at 2:12.09 in the 200 Breast.
Matthew Lucky notched a win in the 200 Breast with a time of 1:56.60.
The team of Spitz, Ervin, Audrey Yu, and Sydney Smith closed out the meet with a win in the 400 Free Relay, posting a time of 3:17.45.
Theย quartet of Jan Karolczak, Connor Schuster, Ben Forbes, and Cade Duncan claimed a win in the 400 Free Relay, clocking in at 2:54.04.
The win marks Northwestern's first win on the men's side of the Purdue Invitational and the program's second overall (2021 Women's).
