MADISON, Wis. – Despite a strong second half, Northwestern came up short against Wisconsin 2-1 Thursday at McClimon Memorial Soccer Complex in Madison.
Northwestern dropped to 7-4-3 overall and 1-4-1 in Big Ten action after the loss.
How it Happened
Wisconsin scored in the 12th and 36th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
Northwestern halved the lead on Ella Hase's 48th-minute goal, her seventh of the season, assisted by Meg Boade.

An 83rd minute red card forced the Badgers to protect the lead with 10 players. Despite a late flurry of shots from Northwestern, Wisconsin was able to escape with a 2-1 win.
