EVANSTON, Ill. – Fresh off a 2-0 win at Maryland, Northwestern swept the Big Ten Men's Soccer Players of the Week awards, with Jackson Weyman earning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and Collin McCamy collecting Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. Jackson Weyman earns Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording his second clean sheet of the 2023 campaign in College Park. Weyman made a career-high seven saves in the contest, which was Northwestern's first win over the Terps since 2019. In addition to Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors, Weyman was also named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week. Collin McCamy secures Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors after tallying a career-high three points in the win at Maryland. McCamy scored the opening goal of the game, the eventual game-winner, with a left-footed rocket from 25 yards out in the 43rd minute to give the 'Cats a 1-0 advantage into the break. Early in the second half with the score still at 1-0, McCamy stepped to an errant Maryland clearance, playing through to Jason Gajadhar, who found Christopher Thaggard for the goal. The awards mark Northwestern's first Big Ten Men's Soccer Players of the Week sweep since September 30, 2013, when Brandon Medina and Tyler Miller claimed Big Ten Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week honors, respectively.
